The companion app¶
The OpenPak app puts your account, friends, invitations and saves on your phone. It is one codebase for Android and iOS; Android builds are published, iOS is not yet.
Download: OpenPak app releases (also linked from openpak.org/downloads). New releases install over the previous one.
What it does¶
- Sign in with your OpenPak account (and its two-step code), or create one. A forgotten password is reset by email.
- Friends with presence: who is online and what they are playing. Accept or decline requests, and unblock people you blocked.
- Invitations waiting for you, with decline. Opening the inbox does not use invitations up, so your console still receives them.
- Titles: the latest news, which games have a server, who is online on each network, and a way to request the next game.
- Saves: your usage, each game's versions to restore, download or delete, and your own storage.
- Chat with friends.
- Account: details, avatar (a built-in one or your own photo), password, email, two-step sign-in, linked consoles (link a Wii or DS, unlink any), signed-in devices, and deleting the account.
Notifications¶
If you allow notifications, the app tells you about things like new friend requests. The app uses a push token for your device to do this; see privacy.
Crash reports¶
If the app crashes, it saves a report on the phone (the last five) and offers to send it, on the spot or at the next launch. Nothing is sent until you choose Send, or Always send (which you can change on the account page).
